The final chapter of the iconic Planteray Terravera collection, Trinidad 2003 is the oldest and most mature vintage ever released in the series. Distilled from molasses at Trinidad Distillers Limited in 2003 using a column still, the rum first matured for 19 years in ex-bourbon casks under the intense tropical climate of Port of Spain before undergoing a further 3 years of continental refinement in Ferrand oak casks in France. This dual-aging approach concentrates both aromatic richness and textural elegance. Bottled at 47.8% ABV with naturally high ester and volatile compound levels, it offers remarkable depth, oiliness and complexity — a collector’s rum shaped by time, terroir and expert maturation. Trinidad Distillers Limited (TDL) is one of the Caribbean’s most respected rum producers, known for its precise column distillation and characterful, fruit-forward spirit style. Through the Terravera range, Planteray (formerly Plantation Rum) explores the influence of terroir and maturation by combining tropical aging at origin with secondary aging in Maison Ferrand’s Cognac cellars, creating layered, elegant rums that bridge Caribbean power with French finesse.
