Akkeshi is a pretty new kid on the block in terms of Japanese whisky. They only started distilling in 2016 but already they’re receiving great praise. Akkeshi Shosho Summer Fades 2021 was named the World’s Best Blended Whisky at the 2022 World Whiskies Awards! This drop is a blend of brilliant malts and grains from distilleries around the world. It has a nose of shortbread, smoke, vanilla and wood. The palate is sweet and oaky with peat, malt, dried fruits and orchard fruits. The finish is medium with vanilla and smoke.
