The Wild Parrot range from Italian independent bottler Hidden Spirits features some of the most legendary heavy rum bottlings from distilleries such as Caroni, Diamond, Hampden, Enmore and Savanna. For La Maison du Whisky’s 2022 collection Antipodes, the team headed to the parish of Saint Michael in Barbados and brought home this single cask of full proof Barbados rum. Barbados Rum The Wild Parrot Collection Antipodes 1996-2022 was distilled in January 1996 and bottled in 2022 at 51.2%. The nose is rich and youthful, opening with vegetal aromas and notes of pineapple, lemon, banana, vanilla and Tiger Balm. White flowers, cane sugar, Acacia honey, burnt rubber and pear then come to the fore. On the palate, cane sugar and aromatic plants develop into soft flavours of licorice stick, toffee and almond milk. The finish is long and smooth with vanilla, white chocolate and candied fruit.
