La Maison du Whisky’s Artist range is a collection of exceptional single malts that have been selected from the warehouses of Signatory Vintage. The range was first introduced in 2011 and is dedicated to showcasing the very best of each distillery. The range includes vintage bottlings aged for 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years, and sometimes longer, with each expression in the range dedicated to cask strength single casks. The Bunnahabhain 1977 is a limited edition single cask #7602 that is one of the exceptional single malts featured in the Artist range. Despite being produced at a time when the distillery’s malt was either unpeated or only lightly peated, this whisky is a true representation of Islay’s single malts. Aged for an impressive 44 years in a sherry butt, this whisky has a very salty character and intensely peaty retro-nasal olfaction that are the undeniable proof of its origins. The Bunnahabhain 1977 has a charming and voluptuous palette of flavors and aromas that demonstrate remarkable unity of tone, making it a rare and exceptional whisky that is a must-try for any whisky connoisseur. The packaging of the Bunnahabhain 1977 also features artwork by Gesine Arps, a painter, sculptor, and poet, who draws inspiration from the world around her. Her colorful and bright paintings give off a peaceful and warm vitality that takes us on a voluptuous poetic adventure, providing a unique and artistic touch to this exceptional whisky.
