HELLYERS ROAD 21 ans 2003 Ex Libris Waking Dreams
$48.94
$89.56
Bottled at 46,.2% ABV without chill-filtration or added colouring, this Hellyers Road single malt offers a pure reflection of Tasmanian terroir. Unlike many modern distilleries, Hellyers Road conducts is mashing, distillation and bottling entirely on site, drawing on locally grown barley and a cool coastal climate that encourages long, expressive maturation. Founded in 1999, the distillery has since become known for its mastery of both peated and unpeated styles, classic oak ageing and experimental cask finishes. This expression is crafted almost exclusively from Franklin barley, grown and malted in Tasmania by Joe White Maltings. It preserves the brightness of youth while revealing impressive maturity and depth, qualities that place it firmly within the lineage of the most distinguished Hellyers Road bottlings selected over the years by La Maison du Whisky. This Hellyers Road 21 Years Old 2003 expression appears under LMDW’s Ex-Libris collection, a series that inteprets each whisky as a “volume” of flavour and character, much like a treasured book. Each bottling in Ex-Libris is chosen for its narrative strength: ability to express origin, technique and terroir and clarity. This Hellyers Road expression fits seamlessly within that philosophy. Its flavour profile is shaped by exotic nuances and a striking freshness. Beneath the layers of fruit and malt lies a distinctive balsamic and saline character, giving the whisky both structure and tension. Balanced, complex and true to its origins, this is Australian single malt with a compelling sense of place.
