This exceptional special release project pays tribute to the process of maturation and the impact of wood charring on the bourbon’s taste and color. The charring process caramelizes the natural sugars in the wood, and acts as a filter for impurities left over from the distilling process. Blanton’s uses Char No. 4, the highest level of char, because it extracts the most delicious flavor and aroma from the wood, including sweet vanilla and caramel notes.
